Sea Lion Superstars

A top-rated Saint Louis Zoo attraction, the Sea Lion Show is oceans of fun for the whole family!

The Zoo's California sea lion stars are back to the stage. Some of the acrobatic and athletic behaviors you'll see from these intelligent animals include:

  • Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform

  • Powerful swimming

  • Lots of splashing and even more surprises!

While on stage with the animals, our trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, animal fun facts and the need for conserving the sea lions' ocean habitat.

Lichtenstein Sea Lion Arena

Our 811-seat amphitheater, which opened with Sea Lion Sound in summer 2012, features the large Ann Lux Family Stage and a rock bridge extending into the audience offering an up-close look at the playful sea lions. Watch the sea lions swim underwater in the 40,000-gallon acrylic saltwater pool surrounding the stage. The arena also offers shaded seating with a huge fabric awning and giant, whisper-quiet fans overhead for audience comfort.
