150 Years. 150 Adventures. One Extraordinary Park

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of our beloved Park, we present the Forest Park Passport ”…for the enjoyment of yourselves, your children and your children's children…”

The Passport is an activity-based map of Forest Park with 150 things to do, seasonal challenges and prizes! Pick up a physical copy at these locations inside Forest Park.

Our urban oasis opened to "the people of St. Louis” on June 24, 1876. We are grateful to the community partners and creators who are commemorating Forest Park’s 150th anniversary while supporting our work.

Local Artist Brings New Art to Forest Park

Joseph Mueller, a St. Louis-based artist, will paint the public art piece on all four exterior walls of Forest Park's racquetball courts. Work is under way!

Community members requested public art during planning for the basketball courts in 2024. Responding to this input, a committee was convened in 2025 and the process to install a mural in Forest Park had begun.

Imagine Ice Skating in the Glade

Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis are proud to partner on the Glade. This community-driven project will transform Steinberg and its surrounding 22.5 acres for activity all year.

This winter, we’ll enjoy ice skating in Forest Park once again! But the ongoing construction of the Glade on the Park’s east end is so much more than a beautiful and award-winning renovation of Steinberg Rink. Designed to harmonize with existing waterways, prairies and woodlands, the Glade will offer year-round opportunities for relaxation, recreation and more.

Restoration Leads to Biodiversity

New research in Forest Park finds our long-term restoration efforts are linked to an increase in bird diversity. This shows the impact of visionaries who formed the Forest Park Master Plan 30 years ago, and all who have taken care of the Park's natural systems since!
