Forest Park is 150

Forest Park opened to "the people of St. Louis” on June 24, 1876.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, join Forest Park 150 anniversary events throughout the Park.

We are grateful to the community partners and creators who are commemorating Forest Park’s anniversary while supporting our work.

Restoration leads to biodiversity

New research in Forest Park finds our long-term restoration efforts are linked to an increase in bird diversity. This shows the impact of visionaries who formed the Forest Park Master Plan 30 years ago, and all who have taken care of the Park's natural systems since!

Artistic rendering of Steinberg in the Glade reimagined for activity in all seasons and during any time of the year.

Imagine the Glade

Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis are proud to partner on the Glade. This community-driven project will transform Steinberg and its surrounding 22.5 acres for activity all year.

The Glade was not impacted on May 16. As tornado recovery and construction continue, our experts are working with local furniture maker Mwanzi Co. to repurpose felled trees into tables and other furniture in the Glade.

Follow progress of the 20-month project on the construction update page of our website.

New Art in Forest Park

In fall 2025, Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis released a Call for Artists to design and install a unique mural on the racquetball courts in Forest Park. The Selection Committee chose 3 dynamic artists to advance in the process. Learn more about this project and review samples of work from each artist here.
