Liberal Arts Bridge in Forest Park Has Reopened to Traffic — Restoration Work Will Continue in This Area
Liberal Arts Bridge — located between the Boathouse and the Muny in Forest Park, connecting Government Drive and Pagoda Circle — reopened to traffic on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
This bridge was demolished in September 2017 as part of a Park improvement project, funded by donations to Forest Park Forever and managed by the City of St. Louis. The project has two key goals: construction of a new, safer bridge featuring updated sidewalks, new crossings and a new connection to Forest Park’s path system; and the addition of significant natural enhancements to the surrounding meadow and flowing waterway beneath, creating a welcoming natural area for visitors to enjoy.
While Liberal Arts Bridge is now safely open to visitors on foot, on bike and in cars, visitors will see continued restoration work in the area through spring 2018 and landscaping into summer 2018.
