The Laclede Group President and CEO Suzanne Sitherwood Elected to Forest Park Forever Board of Directors
ST. LOUIS, August 5, 2014 – Forest Park Forever announced today that Suzanne Sitherwood, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Laclede Group, Inc., has been elected to the organization’s Board of Directors. The vote took place at the Board of Director’s July 21 meeting.
Sitherwood has more than 33 years of experience in the natural gas industry. She became president of The Laclede Group in September 2011 and CEO in 2012. Prior to those roles, she served as the president of Atlanta Gas Light, Chattanooga Gas Light and Florida City Gas.
The St. Louis Business Journal named Sitherwood to its lists of “Most Influential Business Women” and “Who’s Who in Energy.” Sitherwood believes that getting involved in a community is the way to make true change. That is why she is chair elect for the St. Louis Regional Chamber and will be the chair of that organization in 2015. She also sits on the boards of Civic Progress St. Louis, United Way of Greater St. Louis, American Gas Association, Southern Gas Association and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Forest Park Forever Board of Directors,” said Sitherwood. “Across the United States and the world, great parks make great cities. Forest Park is an incredible asset for St. Louis, and Forest Park Forever’s role in restoring and sustaining it is essential to its success. I look forward to working with the Board and staff to advance the organization’s mission at this exciting time.”
“We are so pleased to welcome Suzanne to the Forest Park Forever Board of Directors,” said Steve Finerty, Board Chairman. “As a dynamic and visionary senior executive, she will play a valuable role in guiding and growing the organization in the coming years.”
“Suzanne truly values Forest Park, both as a Park visitor and as a corporate leader who recognizes how the Park contributes to the region’s quality of life,” said Forest Park Forever President and Executive Director Lesley S. Hoffarth. “We are fortunate to have her joining our highly engaged Board of Directors.”
