Star Party with the Science Center

  • McDonnell Planetarium 5100 Clayton Avenue St. Louis, MO, 63110 United States (map)

1st Friday of each month (weather permitting)

Timing varies seasonally

Nighttime public telescope viewing at the Saint Louis Science Center is offered monthly through public Star Parties. Beginning at dusk, a variety of telescopes are available on the grounds of the McDonnell Planetarium and operators will be on hand to answer questions and guide observing.

Star Parties include a free Monthly Sky Lecture hosted inside the McDonnell Planetarium’s Orthwein Star Bay Theater. This program features what will be visible in the current month’s sky including constellations, planets, and any other special astronomical events such as meteor showers, etc.

If observing conditions are poor, the Monthly Sky Lecture will still be offered in lieu of telescopes.
