Celebrating Juneteenth: Black Music Month

Honoring the power and influence of Black music, the Museum will celebrate Juneteenth with a free lecture and musical performance celebrating the recent acquisition of Dear Friend, a limited-edition portfolio of 12 photogravures that reproduce original drawings by St. Louis-born artist Oliver Lee Jackson honoring his late friend, composer, and musician Julius A. Hemphill.

The event will include live music provided by the National Blues Museum and a lecture by Shaka Myrick, 2021–2023 Romare Bearden Fellow.
