SAFETY ZONE - Thursday Night at the Museum

  • MO History Museum 5700 Lindell Boulevard St. Louis, MO, 63112 United States (map)

Kick off your weekend at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park! Each Thursday Night at the Museum will be the most fun, engaging, uplifting, thought-provoking, perspective-shaping night of your week. And there are drinks. Join us starting at 5:30pm for pop-up activities, such as brief tours, games, and performances. The main stage comes to life at 6:30pm, light appetizers and drinks are available for purchase until 7:00pm, and the Museum’s exhibits and shop are open until 8:00pm for you to explore!

SAFETY ZONE: LGBTQIA+ SPORTS AND RECREATION
Over the past half century, many LGBTIQIA+ sports and recreation leagues have emerged in St. Louis as safe and comfortable spaces for those who identify as members of queer communities seeking out social interaction, physical activity, fun, and friendly competition. Join us to commemorate LGBTQIA+ History Month with a brief history of LGBTQIA+ athletes and sports in St. Louis, followed by a conversation with some individuals who have been involved with various sports and recreation leagues as well as the Gay Games. We’ll end the night with a special ballroom dance performance featuring dancers from St. Louis Equality Dance!

This program is associated with Gateway to Pride, presented by the William A. Kerr Foundation, AARP St. Louis, Lindley James, and David Prelutsky, and associated with Soccer City, presented by Bank of America.
