Share the experience of spring migration with the Missouri Department of Conservation! Kennedy Forest, in Forest Park, is a migrant trap for birds (escaping from the concrete jungle of the city) attracting a high concentration of warblers. They will be looking for food, hopping around in the trees, and singing their little hearts out. How do they have enough energy and spunk to be singing after flying hundreds if not thousands of miles? If the migration allows, we will be in for a spectacular show of colors, patterns, energy, and endurance!
We will be moving very slowly through the forest on the blacktop trail and boardwalks for about 0.5 miles. We encourage all to attend. No prior bird knowledge required. We hope to have a diverse group of participants witnessing these diverse birds! Dress for the weather, bring a water bottle, bird field guide, and binoculars if you have them (some field guides and binocs will be available to borrow).
