The Forest Park Forever team recently learned about a Girl Scout Troop that invented a new way to reuse styrofoam. Known as the Blockheads, this group of Lindbergh High School students, girls aged 13-15, developed a unique, environmentally-friendly innovation to address the problem of styrofoam – EcoGlOo.

Thanks to a grant from the Midwest Chapter of the International Society (MW-ISA) of Arboriculture, the Forest Park Arboriculture Crew (FPAC) now has one of the largest and most complete arboriculture training libraries in the region. 

On Thursday, May 11, FOCUS St. Louis presented their What's Right with the Region awards to 20 incredible organizations, initiatives and individuals. Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation & Forestry were honored to be among them, receiving an award in the Fostering Regional Cooperation category.

Each year, FOCUS St. Louis honors the efforts of 20 individuals, organizations or initiatives that promote improvements in our community through their What's Right With the Region! awards. We are very excited to announce that our partnership with the City of St. Louis has been recognized this year in the Fostering Regional Cooperation category!

2016 was a great year in Forest Park. In fact, there were so many highlights that we decided to build a microsite to share them with you.

A section of Forest Park Parkway west of Kingshighway Blvd. will be closed for about a year beginning December 5, 2016. Be aware of all road closures, detours and alternate routes through Forest Park!

Over the next 30 days, we'll be sharing highlights from our first 30 years working in partnership with the City of St. Louis. From transformational capital improvement projects to conservation efforts and special events, we will feature a different event from our history every day.
