'What's Out There' Weekend Includes Tours of Forest Park
The Cultural Landscape Foundation is bringing its signature What’s Out There® Weekend series to St. Louis and the Missouri River Valley on Sept. 24-25, including several free expert-led tours of significant features in Forest Park.
What’s Out There Weekend: St. Louis and the Missouri River Valley will bring to light the unique landscape legacy and local character of the city and region as reflected by its publicly accessible parks, gardens, plazas, cemeteries, memorials, and neighborhoods.
Working in collaboration with Magnificent Missouri and myriad local partners, WOT St. Louis will engage a large and diverse audiences (typically 1,000+), offering two days of free, expert-led tours of more than two dozen sites that demonstrate the region’s diverse cultural landscape legacy, encouraging participants to discover the little-known design history of places they may pass every day.
Over 30 tours are available through the weekend, including four tours in Forest Park:
Saturday, Sept. 24:
Forest Park: The Jewel Box | 9:00 – 10:00 AM | led by Ted Spaid (SWT Design)
Forest Park: River Restoration Walk | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM | led by Tim Breihan (H3 Studio) and John Hoal (H3 Studio)
Forest Park: Art Hill | 12:00 – 1:00 PM | led by Ted Spaid (SWT Design)
Sunday, Sept. 25:
Forest Park: History of the World’s Fair | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Led by Amanda Clark (Missouri Historical Society)
