We are thrilled and honored that our beloved Forest Park was just named the #1 City Park in the U.S. by the readers of USA TODAY! A panel of parks and planning experts picked the initial 20 nominees, with Forest Park ultimately edging out other amazing destinations such as Central Park in New York City, Boston Common & Public Garden in Boston and Grant Park in Chicago.

Many thanks to everyone who took the time to vote — and thanks to local media (and thousands of our social media fans) for spreading the word about this exciting news! You can find coverage from:

We'll be celebrating this exciting distinction during Under the Clock Tower: 2016 State of Forest Park Community Gathering, with a sweet treat to cap off the night. Join us on April 14!

We would like to thank the entire community for their ongoing love and support of Forest Park. The story of Forest Park’s renewal and rebirth is one of our region’s greatest comeback stories. Over the past three decades, so many people have made this transformation possible — from visitors to donors, volunteers to staff, partner organizations and beyond. We share in your pride of having the best urban park in the country, and we look forward to many decades to come of enjoying and preserving one of our region’s greatest civic treasures. Thank you!
