FPF Volunteer Spotlight: Nature Reserve Team
Note: During National Volunteer Week, we are shining a daily spotlight on just a few of our wonderful volunteers. Forest Park Forever’s volunteer & visitor services programs are generously supported by the E. Reuben & Gladys Flora Grant Charitable Trust, Trio Foundation and the Saint Louis Service Bureau Foundation. In 2013, Forest Park benefited from 1,180 volunteers who provided 11,868 hours of service and stewardship.
Forest Park Forever continues National Volunteer Week with a highlight on our Nature Reserve Volunteer Team. This group of 12 dedicated volunteers meets weekly on both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The group works under the direct supervision of our Nature Reserve Stewards and Park Ecologist and they perform labor-intensive projects such as invasive species control, native plantings, clean up and trash removal.
In the spirit of National Volunteer Week, Forest Park Forever salutes our Nature Reserve Team for donating more than 450 collective hours in 2013, which is an equivalent of $10,000 gift of time for Forest Park and Forest Park Forever!
