1. River Des Peres is underneath Forest Park. See these tubes? They were added in the Park over 90 years ago. Check out these photos for more from the Riverfront Times.
2. Turtle Playground is in Forest Park.
3. There are six lakes in Forest Park: Round Lake, Murphy Lake, Post-Dispatch Lake, Bowl Lake, Deer Lake and Jefferson Lake surround the Park. Explore them here.
4. Growing up Kennedy Forest was one of my favorite places to go. I am sure I walked by Pine Circle a million times, I just never knew it existed. Located right next to Skinker Blvd., this location is not even on our digital map. Bonus tip: lay down in the circle and look up at the trees for an epic view.
5. This mulberry tree just northeast of Steinberg Rink can be found on a natural path east of the boardwalk. You have to see this tree with your own eyes to believe it.
6. There is an eastern witch hazel Missouri state champion tree right here in the Park. It is located in front of the Victorian Footbridge (pictured on the right).
7. There are 170-acres of Nature Reserve in the Park. Be sure to check out the prairie area along the dual path next to the Fish Hatchery this time of year. The purple asters are stunning.
